Hey guys i've had this weird wobble since i 've owned my PT. I took it to the dealership a few times trying to figure it out.One dealer told me it was the characteristic of the car and the other said they couldn't feel it? It wobbles only in the floor when the car shifts from first into second (it's an automatic) at a harder takeoff but not on a easy one. I can't feel it in the wheel only in the floor.I had new wheel bearings ,torque converter installed. I thought maybe it was the goodyears so i bought new tires for the front . Any suggesstions? ?

Sorry Kzoo...I don't have a clue. Don't feel a wobble in mine. There's a slight vibration when I get it up to 105 mph. Just kidding, never had it that fast. Can't offer any advice on this one.

Is it sort of a shudder while shifting? Sounds like a motor mount to me. Actually, it is called a torque strut. Pop the hood, put your parking brake on hard, hold your foot on the brakes, and while the car is running, put the car in drive and then reverse alternating back and forth. Look at the engine through the windshield and try to see if it rocks back and forth a lot. It will move some under normal conditions but if it feels like it rocks back against something it's probably the mount.
Hope this helps,
Brian

Could be the 'BadYears' in the rear since you ONLY changed the front

Hey guys i really tried to figure out what is going on with my car today. The car seems to only wobble or shudder when it's warmed up and not cold.It starts about 15 -20 mph then seems to fade away. It does it going straight and while turning from a dead stop. Any new ideas?

Well it's Tuesday and i just got back from the dealership. My two problems have been found FINALLY!!! The shudder or wobble has been caused by worn drive axles(only 22,000miles) and my fuel fumes has also been found out. They ordered the parts from Detroit and another appointment on Friday and i hope it's fixed for awhile. So much work on this car since i've own it a year.Thank God it's still under warranty. Please say everything will be ok . Thanks guys for your ideas on what could be the problem.

Well i got new half shafts on my car and guess what ,STILL THERE!!! I really hate Chrysler and i'm starting to hate this car also. The dealership really ticked me off yesterday when they started blaming my lowered springs for causing the problem (only had on for two weeks)when i've had the problem for a year.Seems like it got worse with the new shafts on .Somebody out there save me and the little car!!! What else can i do??? The wobble only does it on takeoff .After second it's fine. It's great at cruising speed. Thanks Guys, Mark

The half shafts couldn't be the problem if it shows up at startup... Did they check those? Did you try the trick with the hood open and put it in drive with the brakes on, then reverse etc to see if there was an excessive amount of movement of the engine? Brian

I went back and reread the original post. You said you had a new torque converter installed. That means they were putting a jack on the motor tranny assembly and putting stress on the torque struts.
Did the wobble start after that work was done?
Torque struts...still my vote. I am a distant observer of this situation so I can't say for sure but it -really- sounds like the torque struts to me and the dealership may have contributed to the problem by placing stress on them during the torque converter replacement.
Brian
Keep us informed of the continuing saga...

Hey Brian i guess they did look at the motor mounts at least it said check motor mounts on my work order. But now they are blaming my lowered springs for being a possible cause. The thing is i probably can't have them look at it because they said i voided my warranty for the install of the lowered springs so now i'm screwed. I made sure the other day that the air was up to where it's suppose to be and i still get a wobble or shimmy.I had also swapped the tires around and still there.I know for sure it's coming from the front. The axles were bad because it's much tighter. When i get to S.C. i'm going to get the tires balanced.I don't know what else it could be. Tool Time anyone.....lol Take care everyone.
