Me and Richard planning to go to Kelly, NC for Wally's cruiser event. Anyone want to meet somewhere and cruise there in a PT convoy? Figured we may go highway 64 through Pittsboro and pick up Tony and Petey too.

Yeah, we are in Greensboro. My mom lives in Bailey so when I go see her, I go 64 to 40. Not sure what time we will leave. Will see Wally this weekend so I'll get driving time and directions from him. Will post info here once I know something.

We could meet you in Asheboro or along Hwy 64 somewhere east of Asheboro. We'll probably head up Hwy 49 to get there rather than I-85.

We would be coming down 421 and exiting onto 64 at Siler City. There is a Burger King near there that we could meet at. I'll contact Tony and see if there is somewhere we can meet him and Petey.

Everytime I go up to Asheboro, and on the return trip I take a different route...I love the country roads...and the PT handles 'em curves oh so well. Plus you see very few of those silver and black Fords.
Try 64e to 421s to 701s to 210e to 53e....200 feet to Wallys.
Or take I-40 to the Burgaw exit/Hwy 53 west, thru Burgaw, Atkinson, over the Black River, over Colly Creek, past Hwy 210 T-Intersection about a 1/4 mile to Wallys on the Right. Look for the PT's in the front yard about 500 foot off the highway. Kelly is about two miles west....don't blink.

Wally's World/PToholic Gathering/Kelly Spring Festival April 24 Kelly N.C.
Located on NC Hwy 53 between White Lake and Burgaw. If coming by way of I-40, take the Hwy 53 Exit at Burgaw and head west, you'll drive thru farms/forest to Atkinson and then over the Black River and Colly Creek coming into open farmland at Kelly. Don't blink. We have no stoplights, no speedbumps, no local cops, but Hwy 53 is a main path for the NC Highway Troopers between their headquarters and I-40. If you see one he'll either pass you doing 120 mph, or pull you for getting in his way. (just kidding guys).
Hope to see you there. If you do come in early stop at my home and visit.....look for my house at the east end of Kelly on Hwy 53 at "21557"...there's a sign at the road...a dead givaway will be the two Blue PT's in the yard.
If you want to be in the parade you will need to be here at Kelly prior to 10:30 am. If you plan to parade, bring candy to throw to the kids....or if you gots lots of money, you can throw that.
We'll be setting up our PT display at the Kelly fairgrounds in the center of the community at 11:30 am. We will be sharing space, but separate, with a Classic Car Club which will display their Old Metal.
We'll be awarding a single "unforgettable" trophy for the community choice award....the community will pick their choice of numbered PT's attending. May be some more surprises.
Bar-b-que pork and chicken, fried chicken, and all that good stuff will be available at modest cost benefiting the volunteer fire department.
Be sure to gas up before coming as we only have one (independant) gas station and he invented high gas prices before it was popular (so to speak). Nearest cheaper gas is 25 miles.

OK Wally, I was able to figure out where you lived as well as where the fire station and post office were, but I must have blinked because I did not see a town. Just kidding! I drove out that way to get an idea of how long it would take me. I went out 53 but came back 210. See you there. ;D

Tony, there are many ways up here from there, as there are manys way to get here to there. Wilmington is only 40 mins max....I've done it in 25...but I was just cleaning out carbon from my exhausts. Try 74-76 to 87 to 11 to 210 to 53 or 421 to Blueberry Road to 210 to 53 or I-40 to 210 to 53 or 132 to 133 to 210 to 53.
You didn't s-e-e the town? I live in the 'burbs in a area know as "Tuckerville" right next Colly Creek.....surely you saw the Tuckerville sign?

Hey Frank how about we all meet in the Wal-Mart parking lot in Siler City. The new bypass in Pittsboro area will keep you on 64 and keep from having to go through the itty bitty town of Pittsboro,

Any idea the exit number? I haven't been through Newton Grove in ages. Seems they use to have a traffic circle in town that was a real pain, according to my Dad.

There is a traffic circle in Newton Grove, but you will not be going by itif you are coming in on 40. The McDonalds is on the other side of 40, just off the exit. I do not know the exit number but it is well marked.
