Many thanks to Wally for his presentation today!!!! We met with the 5 Star dealer in Wilmington about both starting a local PT Cruiser Club (tennative name "Coastal PT Cruisers") and beginning to work on an event to be sponsored by the dealer. Would like thoughts on a meet and greet in Wilmington for July or August, whichever would be best for you guys. I would hope to get as many of you as could make it down to the coast for this so we could introduce new Wilmington cruisers to the family.

Lets go. If we go to the western part of the state in June, why not the eastern part in July?

OK, I'm thinking July 10th or 24th. Anyone have a preference? This would be at the dealers lot so we would have access to his showroom (for the AC Rick) and restrooms.

Tony you don't mess around do you? Did you tell 'em that we've got a solid sponsor not just for the events but for the "club" too....all we got to do is form a club.
I think the reach that we're interested in is the SENCland area...that being Southeast North Carolina. I'm not sure of how the state is 'devided' or what areas are claimed by any one club. But this one will cover the Counties of New Hanover, Brunswick, Columbus, Pender, Duplin, Bladen, and Onslow at least.
Wilmington is a great place for any kind of meet, no matter how hot the weather is.

Wally & Tony,
I don't think the "divisions" matter much, the Triangle people show up for events when we can, and try to attract other Cruisers to the group, as do the Charlotte people, the Triad people, the mountain folks and the folks down east. A group downeast will help us attract more folks from the area, but we're all cruising the Carolinas together!!

NC is a wide state so no doubt coming from the extreme areas of NC/SC to Wilmington may be tough. I can be in Charleston SC or Atlanta by the time I can get to Wilmington. So people coming from, say Asheville would have quite a trek ahead of them. And vice-versa, the June BBQ in Morganton will be a long haul for you. Plan it, we'll post it and those that can make it like Susie and me, will come.

Thanks to all of you for the encouragement. Wally was right, we have a dealer who is willing to go the extra mile with us. My hope is to get an event ( large, like Zoo Cruise or Return to the Beach) in the works for next year. As far as any boundries go, I will still plan to attend every event I can no matter where it is. The nice thing about having members who live close to me is the possibility of caravaning to other events. I work with several people who saw "what must have been about 15 PT Cruisers" going east on 40. That in reality was the 6 cruisers who came to Kelly in a caravan. I hope to nail the date down this weekend and get the Wilmington meet and greet on your calendars. ;D

I know July can be a busy month, but please mark your calendars for a visit to Wilmington on July 24th. Times will be worked out later, but it will be at Nuwirth Chrysler. That is on the right as you come in from 40 on College Road. looking for help from you guys to make it a good showing for the locals.
