Just wanted to introduce myself, I just joined the club last week, of course after I bought my PT. I purchased a 2001 limited edition with a good bit of mods already on the car. I have been looking at PT's for sometime but I had to sell my pickup first, some of you might have seen this cruiser up in the Morganton area, the person traded it in at John Greene Chrysler. I wanted to buy a PT so I could advertise my website ( http://www.internetautodealers.com) and I just had the lettering done yesterday (sat.). I have been having a ball driving all over Gastonia, and I can see a lot of people looking and even some do a thumbs up. The only problem that I have is that the previous owner lived on a gravel road I think and the car has a lot of very little tiny nicks in the paint on the front bumper etc. I have bought a bottle of touch up but it is hard to fix these little dots. Does anybody have a suggestion?? Thanks, David

Go to: www.autovisuals.com
They make paint pens. You order by your car and color. Good match too, I have them. No more big blobs of paint from a little bottle and brush.

Thanks everybody for the welcome, I did not know about the paint pens, I am going to try to find them local, if not I will order from that web site. I already have some of those blobs!!! I can't wait to go to one of the shows, looking forward to meeting some of you guys, I have a lot to learn about this cruiser, it has a whipple supercharger and some other things that I don't know anything about.

Hi again David. I got your picture up on the Central Carolina page. And by the way, the previous owner did not necessarily have to live on a dirt road. One of the biggest complaints with the PT is the paint. It seems to chip easily. I have/had several on mine and many others do also.

Hi David, welcome to the club! I've always used a paper match to touch-up my cars... you don't get the big blob of paint that the brush leaves... it feathers the paint nicely. Just find a book of matches, tear one out, and use the paper end to paint with. It must be a smoker thing... I've done this for years!

Hey Guys, thanks for all the advice, I went ahead and ordered one of the paint pins, that thing cost 16.99 plus frt. he he!!! I guess if I am going to hang around with the big dogs!!! Well!!! you know what I have to do!!! Now I found out I have to run 91 or better oct. gas!!! because of the supercharger, a person at work told me that I have to buy a cleaning kit and some kind of oil to clean the filter, ( I will probably blow this thing up before I learn how to take care of it!!! ) if I don't get put in jail first for speeding!!

The only thing that you can do is get the whole thing painted. I had a small scratch on my rear hatch and they said the whole thing had to be painted. It all depends on how deep it is. Good luck.
