Hi Just bought a silver, Platinum series LTD. PT and I too am thrilled with this car. It is the first new car I have ever selected by myself and I am well along in age. Anyhoo, want to know what owners think of the extended 7 year warranty for the PT and also the special coating. Are they worth the money? Has anyone used the warranty and for what reason? Appreciate any feed back I can get. Thanks, Silvy

Hi Silvy and welcome to the group. That warranty did not exist when I got my PT late in 2000. I had the standard 3 yr/36000 mile warranty. And I can say it has never been in the shop except for routine maintenance (knock on wood). I've had mine for 3 yrs and 3 months and have put around 53,000 miles on it and nothing except brakes. oil changes and a set of tires.

Hi Silvy, welcome to Carolina PT Cruisers and to PT ownership. A warranty is good to have, I've only had the standard warranty (that comes with the car) on all 30-some of my new cars over the last 40 years....and I have no warranty on my PT now.....over 3 years old. I take the risk instead of paying for someone else to take the risk. It's a personal preference.
Tell us more about the "special coating" you referred to.
