Deich, Donald A. Donald A. Deich, 80, of Wilmington, NC, died Thursday, March 14, 2013, at his residence. Donald was born February 1, 1933, in Tarrytown, NY, to the late Margaret Kennedy and Adolf Deich. He lived and attended schools in Elmsford and Port Chester, NY. Donald proudly served in the US Army and was a veteran of the Korean War. Following the war, he worked in service stations for a period of many years in Elmsford and White Plains. He retired from the city of White Plains Public Works Dept. in NY. Upon moving to Wilmington, NC, Donald became a member of the American Legion Post 10. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Ruth Deich Sippel. Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Grace Bertrand Deich of Wilmington; son, Donald C. Deich of Lowell, MA; sister, Maryanne Deich Jaksina and numerous nieces and nephews. The family will receive visitors from 4-6pm, Wednesday, March 20, 2013, at Andrews Mortuary Valley Chapel. A graveside service will be held at 10:30am, Thursday, March 21, 2013, at Oleander Memorial Gardens with Father John McGee officiating.
