Has anyone tinted their rear door and hatch windows? If so how dark did you go? I have a White PT and want to tint the rear windows but wanted input on positives and negatives of doing this.
Also did you have it professionally installed or did you do it yourself?
Thanks,
Danny

I think I went one shade above LIMO, I don't like nosey people. Great at night for headlights, not so good for seeing out (at night) Had mine done.

I would have it professionally done. It can be real tricky getting it up without any bubbles in it. Also by taking it to a shop, they will know the limits on how dark you can go legally. There is a percentage of darkness you can't go past. If so, you can get a ticket and it could possibly not pass inspection.

OK I took your advice and had mine professionally done today. I got the back doors and wing windows, and the rear hatch door done with 15% tint. Lifetime warrentee and 3M tinting material for $100.00.
The rear windows already had a slight factory tinting so the 15% darkened it up just right for me.
I couldn't believe how much cooler the inside of the car is at 94 degree outside temp. Had to turn A/C down a notch.
I will probably go back in a couple weeks and get the front tow done but not quite as dark.
Very satisfied and thanks for your input.

If you have a moon roof I would highly recommend getting it tinted as well. Cuts down on a LOT of heat inside the vehicle.

AUSMPT, Good idea, but I have the economy base model, and I do mean BASE! But I have plans to make it presentable as funds and time will allow.

crusor; my first PT was the base model. I added power door locks with remote. changed the wheels and tires and had the front and rear bumpers changed to painted style (it had the black/gray with tape marks). Just add as you want when you want, thats the great thing about these cars every one is personalized to the owners taste. My current PT (third one) is a 2003 Touring but does not have the moon roof. Right now it is about four different colors but soon it will all be red again. Thinking of tinting my windows too.

Thanks Tony, I do have electric door locks and windows, but I am looking first of all to add Cruise control for long trips. I am going to try to buy a set of mags from Dizzy, and really like the looks of a sun visor.
My PT is WHITE so paint schemes are endless with a white base.
I will have to move slow due to lack of extra funds to do what I want right now but it will come.
