NOV 19 - 9th Annual Christmas-For-Kids Car and Truck Show - Hendricks MotorSports - Charlotte NC - Probably the largest single day car show in the area, maybe the state. Over 625 cars they say last year. We've been a part of it for many years and this year is not different. Please note the change with the admission fee. We'll meet early as in the past to get a good spot. Check the newsletter and this message board for location and time update. CLICK HERE for a flyer of the show.

We register at the show. Registration starts at 8:00am. We need to be there by then to get a good spot and all park together. We need to meet around 7:00am and head over there by 7:30am.
We meet at the Bruton Smith Blvd exit on I-85, Exit 49. When you get off I-85 (heading north or south) turn towards the speedway. There's a brightly lit "Sam's Mart" gas station and convenience store on your right. Go through that light and turn into Sams Mart. Then make an immediate left into another parking lot. It may sound confusing but as soon as you see it, it'll all make sense.
Pretty cool place especially the museum and gift shop.

Two of the years we've participated in this show, we got the "Club Participation" award. We beat out the Ford and Chevy clubs.
Can we do it again?

We aren't going to make it this year either. I have a dead battery (after only a year) so I need to track that issue down. I also need to replace the transmission solenoid pack which is under the Battery area so...... work on it this winter get it ready for next year's shows. Plus lucky me I'm on call this weekend. ;( I'll setup the Holiday gathering but may not be bringing a cruiser we shall see.

Were not going to be able to make this one. Need to re-stock my wallet after both of us being out of work during Cindy's hospital stay.

I know what you mean. $160+ tonight for the Transmission Solenoid that needs to be replaced on Flames. The Battery was free since I just got in in January 2011. I need to figure what is draining the Battery though even while on a tender.

Great show as usual. Weather started out pretty darn nippy (no it was cold) but warmed up nicely when the sun made an appearance. The show had a few less cars than last year but still some spectacular cars. Needless to say with only 6 PT's there, we didn't get the Club Participation award. However we could have come close. The GM club that did win won with only 14 cars and we've had as many as 23. Hughes Automotive had more cars but finally the show promoters realized that Hughes is not a club.
Click the link below for photos of the winners and a link to all the photos I took.
