Well just when you think things are starting to turn around something kicks you square in the NUTZ. on the way home tonite stopped to wash the PT to prep for Mount Olive Pickle Festival. went to pull back into traffic and heard what sounded like a loose right wheel grinding thought OK brake locked up,nope loose wheel, nope, tried to get moving around a bad corner of hwy117&13 when it happened!!! Sounded like I was dragging something underneath, hummm, well by now you've guessed it it looks like a motor mount either broke or came loose after the timing belt change. So had to have it towed to the shop that fixed the belt so I could go off on their ass,now waiting for the REST of the store when they call and tell me whats broke.....more to follow...FML

They probably took your motor mount out while doing the belt. That happened to me when my headgasket was done. Then when my tranny was rebuilt, I had them put in a new motor mount. Make sure you get an OEM one, some of the aftermarket ones don't have the angle of the right side frame rail built in to the mount and the rubber is prestressed all the time. The OEM one is the right fit.

Well story continues... Just heard from the garage/proctologist....lol,need lower motor mount upper moount and bolts cause the broke, and now get this one also a halfshaft cause yup it got bent when the motor fell,...well you think and oh ya they are sticking right up my A## on the cost, spent over a half hour arguing with them about this and got a agreed price out the door for all of it's,still more then whet I really feel is right but, right now I just want this nightmare over.I'm'thinking of looking into legal action, but it would be hard to show neglect on thier part when they did the belt repair.lets see where this saga goes next.....

Why did the motor fall? When my mount went bad, the rubber just let the mount rest on metal in the frame rail. The mount should have never fallen out during driving. The whole transmission and engine have to slide to the driver's side for the thing to come out. Did the hard part of the mount break? I would make real sure what is going on before I pay anything else.

Hey Rocky, sounds almost like they didn't put the bolts back in the center mount and maybe even in the upper and lower torque struts. That looks to me to be the only way that the engine could possibly drop that much! Also it would take a pretty good blow to bend the half shaft.

well not really sure yet haven't seen the parts.but from what i saw and what they are replacing it seems that the hard point the cast part failed causing everything to shift not to mention i was in a hard right hand turn when it happened.Heard from them and should get it back sometime tomorrow afternoon so I'll post once I get a chance to look everything over....the sage continues
