I've recently had an engine overheat issue .I found this out when stuck in traffic jam, anyways pulled out the chiltons and did all the steps from isolating the fan motor and changing the high and low speed relays. just changed the engine coolant sensor and now I popped a P0118 which is sensor voltage high,ok what do I do now all I didn't change is the thermastat which I'm picking up wends.Oh yeah got the wonderful check engine lite too,

Check your sensor connections/seating and make sure you didn't pull a wire out of a connector or similar. Is the car still overheating, or are you just getting the code? What were the results of the fan relay tests etc?

OK still having a overheating issue ,if i run the ac it will over heat,if ijust run the car it seems to be ok for longer but if i drive longer distances it will happen.,I'm going to change cap and thermastat this weekend ,but have already changed everything in system other then those 2 parts, and the PCM relay thats inside.can't tell if fan is running at all but i did do the fan isolation ck and the fan motor does run if direct wired from battery as test directed.SO what i guess i asking from all you PTbrainiacks what else can I do or should I just take it to the dealer for the PCM check?

Have you checked the fan motor itself? When you run the AC, you create heat right in front of the radiator, which reduces the cooling capability if there isn't enough airflow. How are your coolant levels?

coolant levels are ok and as for the fan i did the isolation test and it runs with direct power but not sure when cars running.I'm going to work on this ,this weekend changing thermastat and cap, plus drain and refill, while its apart do the spark plugs too.Just wondering if its worth getting it read by the dealer.

What do you mean "Getting it Read by the dealer"? Checking for codes? You can get them yourself by doing the "key dance". Ignition on-off-on-off-on (not "start") with a second or so between "ons". The odometer will display any codes, followed by "dOnE".

OK update, I did my Pt stuff today changed the plugs since I had the upper intake off, changed out the thermastat and cap, checked the fluid level{which is alittle low},Had it running in park for about 20 minutes no ac on seemed fine ,as soon as i turn on ac the engine surgeres up and down from 1000 to 1500 rmps, then the air was getting hot,so no ac just hot air in full cold, the temp started to climb so I shut down till I get more coolant to top it off and try to drive it around to see what happens. OK as for having it read by dealer I mean the PCM for the fan not running as it never came on even with the temp rising.I did all the other checks per the Chiltons that the only thing I haven't done yet.I need a good shp that won't screw me over.close to Goldsboro?anyone. Oh ya no codes on keyturn checks other then battery disco'd
