ELLENBORO- Brenda "Brandy" McCorkle Boyd, 61, of Ellenboro, died Dec. 31, 2010, at Cleveland Regional Medical Center, Shelby. She was born in Gaston County on May 6, 1949 to the late William "Bud" T. and Pansy L. McCorkle.
Brenda was a member of New Life Baptist Church in Bessemer City. She was also a member of Carolina PT Cruisers Car Club. Brenda loved her family, friends, baking and making afghan blankets for anyone who asked. She loved making new friends and going to car shows to show off her beautiful PT Cruiser named "Bonnie". Brenda always had a smile and a hug for everyone. Her family says to her, "You were loved by more people than you ever realized. You touched so many lives. Heaven got a little brighter today. A new angel has arrived".
She is survived by her husband Curtis M. "Mike" Boyd of the home; sons: James (Tazz) Ronald Crisp II of the home, LNC CPL Taylor M. Boyd USMC of Camp Lejeune; special daughter Lennie Robinson of Bessemer City; special granddaughter Kaitlyn Robinson of Bessemer City.
Visitation: The family will receive friends Sunday from 2 to 3:30 p.m. at the church.
Memorial service: Sunday, at 3:30 p.m. at New Life Baptist Church, 614 S. 11th Street, Bessemer City.
Officiated by: Dr. Gene Ware officiating.
