anyone tired to do this at home and what was the ut cme ?I have heard a few folks say they did it but need to know some tricks and what to do and not to do from experiance not just the book.please help me out I'll probably have to do mine as a shop and that cost are out of my reach.

That's a big job for anyone, no matter the skill level. Having the right tools for the job and some extra hands is key. You'll have to support the motor since the passenger side mount has to come out to do the belt.
Are you pretty handy with tools? Have ramps, jack stands etc? Air tools will help immensely.

no air tools but yeah i think 'm handy with tool since I spent over 20 years working o fighter jets as a crewchief.Though maybe someone out there had some short cuts like not depleating the ac.

Rocky. Good luck on your endeavor. You are about to embark on the adventure of a lifetime! LOL! I feel your pain my friend.
As for tricks/tips, I suggest 2 jacks as you will have to not only support the engine and have to raise it up and down to get to every bolt, you will have to raise and lower the vehicle to be able to get to all of the bolts. Rent the chysler crank pulley puller from advance auto parts/auto zone/orielly. Two more hands will help out alot. Not sure if you can complete this w/out draining the a/c (I drained mine). Be sure you take the exhaust loose from the mainfold. There is one bolt on there that is turned around backwards from the other three. On three of them the nuts are on the pipe side of the connecting flange and on the other one the nut is on the manifold side of the connecting flange. This nut has a bent piece of metal welded to it to hold it in place while loosening/tightening(I realized this too late and had to cut that one off - NOT FUN) I was blessed to have an air compressor so it made things a lot easier. The bolt that holds the crankshaft pulley on was off in a snap with an impact wrench. Yes, remove the upper and lower torque struts. Some instructions said to remove the mounting bracket for the upper torque strut but I found that was not necessary. I hope you are also going to change the water pump as well. I also changed the idler and tensioner pulleys as well. Brandy's car had 127k when the belt screwed up. It didn't break it just 'shucked' the teeth on the belt off around the pulley on the crankshaft.
Mark the timing mark on the pulley on the crankshaft with something bright colored.
It's a little difficult to get the timing marks on the camshafts lined up exactly. Just remember that the marks should be parallel to the cylinder head. It took me three times to get them in line. Everytime I rotated the engine twice and checked the marks and they weren't in line.

Rockauto.com usually has the best prices. If you are replacing the torque struts, I would definately go there. Dealer wanted about $100 apiece. Got them from both for less than $50(I believe).

Mine was done without depleting the A/C system, so it can be done. Be safe and keep the car on multiple jack stands while under the car.
