Cam position sensor is the 340 code. 1684 just means your battery has been disconnected recently (within 50 starts). Had any work done lately?

Make sure to get a Mopar Cam sensor. I've heard lots of reports of the aftermarket ones being less than adequate.

Well, don't rule out the timing belt. Maybe you can pull the screws off the cam gear covers and pull it back enough to see if the timing belt is broken?

Never had the timing belt break, but I did have a really bad "miss" in the Sedan(Flames) between 58 and 65 miles per hour. I replaced the Wires/plugs (twice) and the Ignition (coil pack) and it was still there. I did do the timing belt/water pump/pulley replacement because I had 82K on it. After I did that the "miss" disappeared and she is running better than ever.

I did pull the one screw from the timing belt cover that I could reach without any teardown. The belt was there but felt very loose alot of play and when Shawn turned it over nothing was moving but thats the problem nothings moving. It sounds like it's trying to start but very high pitch and no spark but I do smell fuel. I did do the CPS Cam sensor thought maybe it was that was thinking about crank one but now seeing th play in the belt I think its broken.THOUGHTS?

If the belt is loose and not turning then I'm afraid that is a broken belt. I just had mine done at 98k along with a headgasket as well. Big job.

Make sure you use good jack stands and secure the car. I just got news that my cousin was killed while working on a car. He had it on cinder blocks and it fell on him. He left a wife and young daughter behind.

Hey Rocky is there more wrong with your car than a timing belt. I saw your car at Max's shop on my way to the golf course.

I was going to look at the timimg belt on mine and I did get all three of the bolts holding it on off. But you still can't see anything. Now I know it's the fuel pump. $220.00 dollars and she'll run like new.
