My cruiser is right at 75K miles, have just changed oil & filter about 2-3 weeks ago when I've noticed my oil light has started coming on, then goes off....this morning it started on the entire trip into work.
Upon parking there I popped the hood & checked oil level...everything is fine, engine purrs like the day I brought it...
Seems I recall reading about oil sending units going bad...reckon this is my problem? How easy/hard is it to change those out?

Sending units can be a problem. It's kind of tricky to get to the unit. You have to go from underneath and fiddle with it to get it out. Make sure the car is cool. Also, make sure you use ramps, jackstands etc and be safe under there.

where exactly is this beast? how much is a new one? Any special tools needed for the removal/install?
btw, the light stayed OFF all the times I drove it today.

It's on the bottom, backside of the engine block. I remember swearing at the car several times trying to get a wrench on the thing. No special tools but it helps if you are a shapeshifter.
