We are on a roll, breezed through MO,lots of quirky things to see (Rocker that was 20 ft across-to draw you in, then fantastic fun people and wine and bourbon tastings; Cindy bought both.) Saw the original "Tow-Mater" in Kansas. Barrelled through OK in between the tornados, had lunch at the Rock Cafe and met the famous Dawn, and on to the Panhandle of TX and the famed Cadilliac Ranch. Yesterday morning had breakfast at the Midpoint Cafe (inpiration for the Cafe in"Cars" movie. Stunning scenery all the way across and yesterday we drove up to Sandia Crest to look down on Alburqueque from over 10,600 feet. Feet of snow on the ground in spots at that elevation and temp drop of 22 degrees in a 10 mile drive. Drove the turquoise trail for a while (Cindy is coming back for a month of shopping)and on to Alburqueque. Will have tons of pictures when we return The weather was nice this weekend but today it was in the low 60's and rain. Sounds like you are having a great trip!! Years ago I took a plane ride though the Grand Canyon--that was worth it. You don't realize how big Texas is until you start driving though it...especially that "big sky" at night. Marie Well the Rt.66 run is done, topped off by trip to Graceland. 16 states, 14 days, 5604.9 miles, 108 hr. 26 min. & 30 seconds behind the wheel. We saw temp. from 38 degrees to 101 degrees. we dodged tornados in 3 states going and coming. It was worth it & ready to do it again, pictures to follow as soon as we can go thru 915 pictures an pick the best
