The water pump went out yesterday on Almond Joy. Got her over to the dealership and they are going to replace the water pump and timing belt today for $750. PT has over 80K so I figured to go ahead and do everything while it's torn apart. Hopefully I will have my baby back this evening.

That's a decent price. I had the same done several weeks ago and it was $850. Most dealers around here quoted $1000 to $1400 for the same thing.

I thought that sounded pretty reasonable. I love my dealership, they have taken care of me for 20 years! Becky

Got my baby back and she's good as new! Now to take the convertible in tomorrow for 72K service. They're just like kids... one gets something and the other one expects something too! Becky

I'll hit 104k on the way to Black Mtn on Friday so yeah, it was overdue. Also got new shoes for it and put on the 2007 GT wheels I had sitting in the garage for over a year.

A friend of mine out here in Eureka, Ca. just got his out of the shop today, had 105 thousand miles, the dealer wanted about 17 hundred to do it another shop did it for 13 hundred. they found oil in two of the spark plugs and replaced the o-rings there. cost him another 45 dollars. Oh! the dealer quoted him 800 dollars until he took it in to do the work, then told him he didn't tell them it was a GT with a Turbo so that is why they wanted to charge him more money.... I only have 20 thous. miles on my 06 GT. so don't have to worry for a while....You got a great deal Miss B. Ptpreacher

Thanks PTpreacher. They actually changed 3 belts, the water pump and changed the oil... Still $750 + tax. I must be special! ;D I hope my dealership never closes!

Thought I had resized down enough so it wouldn't scroll off the screen. Sorry. This was last weekend at Cruising For A Cure 4.
