Just bought an 07 conv. base model w/o cruise control because it was A1 in every other way. Finding a good clean low milage "Vert" was a chore! Easy to drive W/O the control but wife likes the convenience(heavy foot!). After market OEM kit is $399. Anyone have a better route? Someone who parts out PT's?? Open to suggestions. We're in the Beaufort SC area.

For all the parts and labor to install a factory unit under the hood and through the steering column and wheel, it might be a lot easier and cheaper to go with the aftermarket unit.

Any suggestions on the best source for the after market unit? Thanks.

Would you also need a trip to the dealer to enable the CC in the PCM?

Found Mopar kit on EBay for $199. Will check with dealer and my ASE shop on install. Will ask about the CC. Thanks all.

Went to my ASE mechanic friend and asked about installing Mopar kit. He got the "1000 yard stare" look in his eyes! Said he never done that and dnk what it would take! Went to Cheysler shop to get a $125 spare key!!! $230 if I wanted the buttons. They looked up the control and the book shows NO kit for add on control for 06 up. Ebay one must be misidentified. Not worth the hassle. I'll spend that money on GOODIES! Good news is wife loves the PT, and that means I get my Town Car back!!! God is good! Thank yall again!

If you already have two keys, you can buy a key off of eBay and program it yourself. You can also add remotes the same way. It should all be in the manual. Don't pay the stealership for things like that. What part of the country are you in? Welcome to the forum! Brian

Thanks for the key tip. I'm in the Beaufort SC area. Just bought the PT 3 days ago and already feel among home folks on this forum. I'm 71 and have overhauled everything from a Harley flathead 74 to a 365 HP Turbo/aftercooled Caterpillar marine engine. I use two tractors in my bushhogging and gravel driveway business and maintain them. When I look under the hood of the PT I get DIZZY!!!! Maintainence will take someone smarter'n me. Thanks again to everyone for making me feel welcome.

Went to a larger Chrysler stealership today and asked about cruise control. There IS an add on kit for the 07 vert. Sells for $231 and takes about 3 hours to install. Total about $531. They installed one last week and have done several. Spoke with the tech who does the install and he says it's no problem at all. I guess there goes the Woodie kit($700)!
