Ok, the 2004 LE has picked up a vibration when accelerating and doesn't go completely away when I get up to cruisin speed. No... it's NOT a good vibration! When I reach about 50 it shakes so much it could rattle your teeth! I thought it might be the tires so she got new tires last week and they were balanced and front end aligned but vibration seems to have gotten worse. I'm going to the shop this afternoon for 72K service and they're going to check it out. Any ideas I can take with me? Becky

Might want to have them take a hard long look at the front end and the motor mounts. Good luck.

mine did that on the way back from autofair once. I got home and started to remove the wheels to locate the problem. It didn't take long to figure out what was wrong. The lug nuts had worked loose some way. I would check them first.

Does it have stock wheels or aftermarkets? If aftermarkets, some require a 'centering' ring which fits in the backside of the wheel opening and makes a tight fit with the disc or drum center.

Ok, It's not the stock wheels, tires or motor mounts. It's going back to the shop today for them to check the front axle. I'll keep you posted on what they find. In the meantime, I still have the convertible to drive.

Ok, I believe the Dealership didn't even look at the front end of the PT. They said it wasn't the motor mounts but thought it was the tires or wheels. I took it over to my friend at a local garage, told him I thought it was the motor mounts and when he took a look he said I was dead on. The 2 motor mounts are bad and the left front axle is bad. It should be fixed and ready to come back home tomorrow. Thanks guys for your input. Becky

Update, Motor mounts were cracked and replaced. Left and right front axles replaced. Vibration is still there! They're gonna keep the car until they find out what's causing it. Any ideas would be greatly appreciated! Becky

Did they find out what your vibration was? 2 of the 4 NEW tires were bad.... left front and right rear. I had all 4 Bridgestone Inspirations removed and put on Bridgestone Potenzas. She's all better now! Thanks for asking Mark! Becky ;D

I'm hearing more about that lately. I even heard of one occurrence where the bead was completely bad on a tire and came completely apart while mounting it.
