Yesterday my driver's side front door speaker went out on me....well, it was still playing but VERY garbled & distorted.
I guess all those years playing Prog Rock at high volume took it's toll on the poor devil, the ring that held the magnet was broken!!! ;D
Ordered a new replacement from M&L Motors (Lexington...did they survive the big Chrysler dealer purge?) and installed it....simple repair....took maybe 15 minutes tops...I'm rocking again!
The factory speakers are plain jane items (and these were part of the "upgraded" premium audio package when I brought the PT new!)....will definitely be upgrading these to some Pioneers or Bose when I can afford to do so...

Several years ago we had a guy in the club who was one of the higher ups with Circuit City's auto stereo division. He had all the latest electronic goodies in his PT. The one thing he left stock . . the speakers. He said for stock speakers, they were excellent. He had a heck of a head unit and DVD player and he cranked it up for me with the stock speakers. It was unreal.
