Well, let me tell you how wonderful the "Stimulus Package" has been for me.
With mortgage rates falling to levels not seen in over 30 years, I figured I'd refinance and fold two loans into one. In so doing at the rate I was to receive, I would have saved around $300 a month. The bank (Bank of America) called and said that they couldn't do my refinance because of the loan to value rate on my house (like 96% which is high). Come to find out that my appraisal is $130,000 less than what it appraised for less than 4 years ago and that I'm in a 'declining' market. Like what market ISN'T declining.
So while the fat cats at BOA and I believe the company they bought out (Merrill-Lynch I think) got millions of dollars in bonuses, us hard working folks are getting the shaft and the sh_ _ _y end of the stick.
So while I'm trying to lower my rate and payment and borrow money (isn't that what the "Stimulus Package" was supposed to do???), I'm screwed because home values are tanking. So if you're thinking the stimulus package is going to help us regular folks..............we're sadly mistaken and when gas goes back to $4.00 a gallon everybody better grab their ankles cause you're gonna get the shaft again.
I'm amazed that they blame all this crap on the banks and investors and 'speculators'. The $4.00 a gallon gas is what started the whole thing and when GM or Chrysler or Ford bites the dust, maybe they'll open their eyes to the real reason.
I think Aruba be'd nice to retire to..............maybe RTTB 15 will be destination Aruba.................
So..... the bottom line is that the $300 that I might have saved each month by refinancing and having available to spend on entertainment, clothes, trips, hotels, restaurants etc. etc.......is not going to happen so I guess I won't stimulate anyone else's business....so what is the stimulus package really supposed to do? So far it looks like it's to pay off executives and fat cats.

Welcome to early onset socialism!! The stimulus package was put in place to stimulate big government and pork spending! The citizens of this country had better wake up. Our government has no business sticking their nose in private enterprise or health care! Look at the way government operates! They can't control themselves much less anything else! Look at the lines and the wait at the DMV, Social Services, VA hospitals. If government takes over health care WATCH OUT! They will decide whether or not you need you medications, your treatments, your operations.
The government should have let General Motors and Chrysler file for bankruptcy! They could have recovered and shed the union contracts. Now the government is going to have someone from from their little special interest groups sitting on the boards. That's nothing but Obama's payback to the unions for their campaign donations!
I'm not a registered Democrat or a Republican. I am an CARD CARRYING AMERICAN! And I'm PISSED OFF! There are alot more like me out there and we are FED UP WITH IT!
I plan on attending one of the TEA PARTY RALLYS in my area and if you feel the same I suggest that you find one in your area and do the same!!!

I am glad that I am not the only one that can see what is happening.
First of all, why are we still calling this bill "Stimulus." Less than 5% of the total bill is going to so-called shovel ready "Stimulus" projects. The rest of the bill is just a bunch of Democratic pet projects that couldn't get funded under George W. Bush. Lets call it what it really is, a "Porkulus" bill. And what really takes the cake, the President comes out and says that this bill doesn't have one single earmark in it. GIVE ME A BREAK!!! How does 50 million dollars to the National Endowment of the Arts stimulate the economy?
Mine as well start calling the county The Socialist States of the World! Obama doesn't call himself a citizen of the USA, he always refers to himself as a citizen of the World. And then he says that this isn't a Christian nation. WHAT? This county was founded on Christian beliefs. 80% of the county considers themselves Christian.
We are at the point where Obama has his hands so deep in this economy he can no longer blame what is happening on George W Bush. But we all know that if we are in the same situation or worse come the next election cycle all the blame will be layed at the feet of Bush, the media will portray Obama as the next coming of Christ, and they will do everything they can to make the Republican candidate look like a racist moron who doesn't like illegal immagrants.
But, we had to deal with Jimmy Carter to get Ronald Regan.

I'm with you guys! I'm not with any affiliation, I'm a Christian and what I seen and heard on Fox News makes me sick! Bowing down to the King of Saudi Arbia, he didn't bow down to the Queen of England. Were not a Christian Nation anymore, We need stand up to this and not be the silent majority anymore! I joined the local 9-12 group. Lets have a Tea Party! The media has Obama as the man who can fix it all, he is more like the Anti-Christ! Everybody is following him like the lemmings. I'm against all this pork that both parties have done. We need term limits at all levels of elected polititions. The way we are going we will be a developing country again.

Hey PYPT07, I am with you on the Tea Party! Tell me when and where and I will be there. I have also been keeping up with the 9-12 project. I would love to attend one of the tea parties in the area, but they always fall on days that I am working. But I guess I shouldn't complain, I am one of the lucky ones that still has a job.
How did you like Obamas 2009 Lets Apologize to Europe tour last week? If it wasn't for us Europe would still be bowing down to the Third Reich.
And maybe next time Obama wants to bow down to someone he can bow down and kiss my butt.

Todays Update: Your Gonna Love This!!!!!!  When I applied for my refinance I had to pay a $400 application fee which, if the loan failed to go through, would be refunded. I checked my account today to see if I had been refunded the application fee yet. Nope. So I called Bank of America and asked them where my refund of the fee was. Here's the kicker.............you're not gonna believe this...... I have to wait 30 to 45 days for the money to be credited back to my account. When I asked why, I got the "well the application has to be closed out and this and that and it will be that long. I told them that was a load of crap and if you took my money for the application in one day, I should get it back in at least the same time frame. I got the "I sorry sir, I can't do anything else for you" line. I told the lady that when enough Americans yank their money out of the banks because we're getting screwed, maybe she'd be un-employed and there'd be no need for banks and their BS tactics. I'm beginning to understand why people "go postal"...... it's enough to just pack up and get the F outta this country. |

Another sign of the times.........
Heard on the radio today about a guy who had taken out a line of credit on his house back when things were going better. He decided to go out and buy a new car. Two days later he gets a letter from his bank saying that they had closed his line of credit because the house was now worth less than what the loan was for and they never notified him ahead of time. He went ahead and closed it anyway. How nice of the bank. Not sure what he did with the car.........
