This is more of a "Visual" performance mod... I have been looking for a set of the "smoked" Sonar taillights for a while. I missed out on a few on eBay recently but finally found some and grabbed them. They are getting harder to find. Here are the ones that I wanted and missed: Here are the ones I bought: In this image they look simply black around the edges but the little picture in the corner of this image looks more like the first image so I think they are the same taillight. They are both called "Black Chrome" so hopefully they are the same. The second picture looks as if they were photographed with a black drapery around them. They were only $36 plus the typical overinflated shipping so I didn't spend to much with them. I know several of you have the chrome version, but does anyone on here have the black chrome version? Pics? Do they hold up well? I may add some amber LEDs with a clear base to complete the look if I can find some that fill out the reflector. I'll post before and after pics of mine when I get them. Brian

I saw these last week on a PT in Florida, had to stop, go back, and look at it again to figure out what I was looking at. They were really nice looking!

Ok weres us some pics of these on the pt Brian? ?? Oh yeah, just about forgot to post these... The chrome reflector inside the lens is tinted on these, not the lens itself, so maybe they will hold up longer than the tinted lens version. I had heard that the tint simply came off after a while on the other version. Also, the pics I posted at the top of this thread are indeed two different lights. The first has a spray tint over the outside of the lens which comes off with time and weather. The second pair is actually black around the edges with a smoked chrome reflector inside the lens. They should stand up much better to the weather. We'll see if the sun fades the tint at all.

I did snap a few pics at night. You can't really tell a difference in brightness since they use the same bulbs as the OEM and have similar reflective surfaces behind the bulb. They do look nice though. I like having the side reflector built into the rear red lens instead of being separate.

We do need another Tool Time day!!! I'd volunteer the house but don't have that many power tools, and we'd all end up forgetting about the PT's and out on the lake on the boat with the beers....
