Well, the week is almost over. As most of you know (if you read the thread on the Coastal Cruise Followup), my PT got smashed on Monday. Sorry, didn't mean to hijack that thread. It's still sitting in High Point, NC at the body shop waiting to be fixed. I still don't know if the lady that hit me has insurance or not but my insurance company is investigating and has sent an adjuster to look at my car today (Friday). I just came from the mailbox and I had SEVEN letters from lawyers in the Greensboro/High Point area wanting to represent me. Dang, it didn't take the ambulance chasers long to find me up here in TN. Two of them even sent me a FREE copy of my accident report! I still haven't decided what I want to do yet. I'll let my insurance company deal with it for a while, maybe they can get the mess straightened out. I'll be working in Cincinnati all next week and in NC the following week. I'll see what happens... Stay tuned...

My sister in law had an accident in front of our house...must have been 9 years ago. Within 2 weeks we had over 20 letters from ambulance chasers. If I ever needed an attorney, it wouldn't have been one of those.

Hi all, I haven't been able to get into the forums from the computer in Cincinnati... they have the site blocked. On Monday, my insurance company estimated the damage at $4959 and it could go up once the body shop starts work. My insurance is going to cover the repairs and fight with the other party to be reimbursed. The body shop started on my car and estimates at least 3 weeks before they will have her good as new. In the meantime I have a 2008 PT to drive so it doesn't hurt quite so bad. More updates as I get them... Becky

Make sure you talk to them about the depreciation value. I found out in my accident that if you automobile depreciates quite a bit then you are entitled to the difference. Before I was in my accident the value of the car was at $6000 and after the accident it was $4500. Had I know who the person was who hit me (mine was a hit and run). My insurance would have given me the $1500 difference. The reason they didn't is per them they could not prove or dis prove I didn't hit something in a parking lot on my own. Since all the Witnesses bailed.

Becky, I can only say hang in there. Fight for your rights and don't let anyone (including your own insurance company) short change you. For some reason insurance companies will give you a hard time when you exceed a 30 day car rental, just remind them that YOU never caused any delays in the reporting/adjusting/repairing schedule. It took nearly 2 months for me to get my new import repaired because there were no parts available and I hadn't even made the first payment when an idiot in of all things a pinto hit me.
I know that you are a savvy and smart person so you'll give them a piece of your mind. Lennell

Good news today. My Insurance Agent called me and said everything would be covered on my uninsured motorist coverage. That includes waiving all deductibles and rental car limits... in other words.... it's not going to cost me a dime. Current damage is at $6274.
Better news.... my baby is on her way to paint.... won't be much longer now! Hopefully by this time next week I'll have her back!

I did have a rental 2008 "Cool Vanilla" PT to drive for 5 weeks... only it was a 4 door and I needed a big can opener to get the top down! All is well here and I hope to see you both this summer!
