I need help with some codes. I have a 0303 (misfire), 0441 (gas cap basically) and then the one I cant figure out, 1188. Any help with this one is highly appreciated!  |

I think the 1188 is an "EOT sensor output high" or similar. I think it is engine oil temperature.

I flushed the engine this evening, changed the oil and she definetly runs better. Though I have that mis fire once in a while. Can the coil be removed with out taking off the plenum (or is just the top of the intake)? I plan to replace the plugs (75,000 miles on engine) which I did about 20,000 - 25000 miles ago. I will start there but am worried that maybe the coil maybe on the way out.

I would suspect wires and plugs before the coil. The OEM coil has proven pretty reliable. Not impossible to have one fail, but the wires and plugs have to deal with a lot of heat.
