Hey guys, I'm trying to get together a meet & greet in Shelby, NC on the 2nd or 3rd Saturday(maybe even Sunday if there is enough response) in May. This will be at a restaraunt called SLIM'S on HYW 74 in Shelby(Beside Carter Chevrolet) This place used to be one of the smaller KFC's. It has seating for about 60 and great food! Burgers, Dogs and other things that I can't think of right now.(Don't have the menu in front of me). If you think you might be interested in attending, please post reply. Brandy & I are looking into having the car show for Taylor's high school senior project at this location next spring. The owners & managers are pumped about the possibility of a show.
I will try to scan the menu and post it as well as a date & time. And maybe get Rick to put it on the calander.
Thanks,
Mike

Hi Brandy, Sorry, but we are busy both those Saturdays. The second weekend in May we are cruising down to Florida to Daytona International Speedway for their PT Cruiser Show. The third Saturday is the Lenoir Downtown Cruise-In and it is '50's night with a live band. We could do the third Sunday - no plans so far. Thanks.

Robin, We would love to have you and your family come to Lenoir for '50's Night. The Lenoir Downtown Cruise-Ins are open to everyone and all models and years of cars. It is free family fun. We block off the streets of downtown Lenoir at 4pm. We have several of our downtown merchants stay open for the event, so there are several places to eat and shop. We have the cruise-ins the first and third Saturday of each month, April through October, except for September. We average around 250 cars and have had as many as 600. Rick has the flyer for the Lenoir Cruise-ins linked to on the CPTCC home page. Hope to see you soon. You can dress '50's style that night too! It's lots of fun!

Mike/Brandy:
I'm out of town at shows both of those dates. Sorry my friend, I'd love to participate. Keep me in mind if you have other dates. Take care.

Sherri/Roger, I'm trying to find out if we have anything like that around here, as in Mooresville down towards Charlotte. I don't mind coming up there but it's about 1 hour 20 minute drive, and then I can't "douse myself with alcohol" if I have to drive, so a beer or two would be it, not that I'm wanting to hammer them down especially since my wife can't drive my PT (Ah, that manual tranny came in handy!!) but I do enjoy a glass/bottle/gallon jug of wine now and then...lol... anyway, my wife doesn't get to participate often in these events as we don't often leave our younger daughter alone during the day. For something like this we can get a sitter, but for an all day cruise it's out of the question. Our daughter is multi-impaired (has CHARGE syndrome) and my wife doesn't like to leave her with a sitter for too long, and, being deaf/blind she freaks out with the top down on the PT, just too much input for her to take in so she doesn't often get to ride in Daddy's car. Ho hum, I do have a blast with my older daughter as she's a car nut, like her dad, and she's usually my companion on these fun excursions.
Look forward to meeting all of you soon, we're already excited for all that we're getting involved in via this web site and the CPTC club. So far though, all the events we've participated in have been pretty far from home...

Oh, my apologies to Mike and Brandy, I didn't realize I was overtaking your post here about a completely different event. I wish I could make your's too, so post here when you have the actual date set so I can see if I can make it!! I'm having so much fun with my PT, I can't believe that I have to make decisions now on where to be on almost every weekend based on PT meets and events!!! What fun! Why didn't I buy one of these sooner?!?!
