OK I'm trying to get any info from all of you PT'rs that have done your own rotors and pad changes. Anything to watch out for and any special tips you might have to help out would be greatly appreciated. Going to try mine in a few days. wish me luck...

Hey Rocky. Have replaced my pads probably 4 times myself and recently put on slotted and cross drilled rotors. The PT is really simple to do, no glitches, no tricky stuff. You're welcome to give me a call and I'll tell you a couple little things I ran across.

well brake jobs complete and I have to say it's not to bad just the rears getting them off the center hub and then aligning them back on took me the longest. But I now have my cross drilled slotted rotors from R1 concepts look nice.

Rocky:
How long did it take you to do your brakes? Did you do all four wheels? I've done only pads on the '01--ceramics--the rotors were fine at 32,000. It seems the turbo is wearing faster(wonder why??). Richard PT4U2C

Tom,Frank: I can't help it! It seems to demand that I speed...or at least accelerate often. I still believe the'01 is better built than the Dream. It seems tighter..or slower. who knows.

Why use the drilled & slotted rotors? Is this just for the looks? I thought I read somewhere that the drilled & slotted rotor are for the high performance cars and that on an everyday driver they actually offer less stopping ability than a non drilled & slotted like a Brembo or something in a non stock replacement. If you get a pulsalting feeling from the brakes in a quick stop (non ABS) is it the rotors?

well they are supposed to run cooler under noraml use and less dust. plus yes its a looks thing but mostly they seem to work so much better then standard brake disc. I've had them on about a coupe weeks and just can't say enough good things
