My fog lights on 2002 PT Cruiser will not cut off. Trying to find out if the problem is in the column or do I have a short. Can I pull a fuse to cut the fog lights off? Any help would be appreciated.....THANK YOU!

Chances are you have a bad 'Multi-Function Switch' in the steering column. There have been MANY instances of this issue and almost always the main complaint when the switch goes bad is that the fog lights will not turn off.
There should be a fuse that you can pull to turn them off. Check your owners manual for a diagram and description of your fuse locations.

Tom is correct. It is most likely the multi function switch(about$75). Easy install, takes about 30 mimutes. There is a fuse for them. Good luck.

can anyone give a general idea of what I need to do to swap this out? Any help is appreciated. I pulled the #8 fuse, but i do love my fog lights at night.

You need a phillips screwdriver and maybe a flashlight to see a couple of the screws in the plastic cowl around the steering column. Its dark in the garage and screws are black and they are way up in the cowl around the steering column.
You also need a Torx driver for the 2 screws holding the MFS to the column.
Then you remove the 2 electical connections. One is for lights and one is for wipers. You will have to remove the wiper stalk from the old MFS and transfer it to the new MFS.
That should do it.

Agree with all above. My MFS failed at 24k miles! Course, I was loading it with too much junk, so removed it and had the dealership change it out under warranty. Took them right at 20 minutes including writing it up....
