I need help!!!! My headlights will go off while I'm driving. They only stay off for a few seconds but at speed that is a real problem. when it does this there is a clicking sound as if I was working the hi/lo switch. Has anyone else experienced this problem or have an idea what is wrong. Any advice is greatly appreciated.

Hi Dwight. This is the first I have heard of this. Sounds like a short or a relay that needs fixing. Dealer item maybe?

Dwight: What year is your PT? '03 models had problems with the light stalk on the left driver column(defective switch), flickering and/or going out: or a short, loose ground, loose lead, bad fuse in circuit. Have a continuity tester, or test light? Good luck! PT4U2C

Sorry, I should have given more information. My car is a 2001, automatic with 85,000 miles. Unfortunately I don't know a lot about it. I have only owned about a month.

This may also be helpful info. The fuse for my fog lights has blown several times.

Dwight,
Tell us about your custom LED backup lights. Did you make them yourself?

yes I did make them (kinda). I modified a 6" oval light to fit the opening and made trim rings out of aluminum diamond plate. If you would like I could take a pic and send you. I would post it here but I have no idea how to do so.
