I disconnected and reconnected my battery and ended up later that day with the check engine light on. Is there a way of resetting it? Or am I going to the dealer? Thanks Bob

Did you check fuel filler cap? A loose one will cause the check engine light to come on. If it doesn't go off when you start it tomorrow, or you don't have DBIII scan tool, I'm afraid it's off to the dealer. There are numerous triggers that can cause the light to come on. Some are very simple, others are not. Good luck!

Fuel cap is always on. I know it can cause a check engine light. I may be off to the dealer. Thanks for the input.

Bob, If it goes off I wouldn't worry about it. If it stays on or comes BACK on again then go see Jeff.

Right after my last post, I started the car and the light went off. Self healing car.

But if it is actually throwing a code the light WILL come back on. Keep your fingers and your legs crossed ;D

You can check the codes yourself by turning the ignition ON-OFF-ON-OFF-ON and leaving it on (without starting the engine). The codes will show up in the odometer display. They will be something like, P0XXX where the Xs are numbers. You can look the codes up online by doing a google search or search PTCrew.com for trouble codes. Do this first before you set foot into the stealership...I mean dealership.

I have the codes; some codes can be several conditions, others are "fake" or blank. Let me know.
