Hey folks i just noticed a clunking noise on the right front of the PT today . It does it when i turn right all the way then back just a little and then it clunks . I had my wife turn the steering wheel for me and i can feel it when i hold on to the tire. Is it a tierod end or what? Thanks , Mark

Not a mechanic, but I had a clunking noise when turning left (mostly in the mornings a t first) and it kept getting louder over time. Ended up being the rack & pinion. If you are still under warranty, get to the dealer and keep hounding them until they get it fixed. If you are not under warranty and it is the rack, get ready for about 750 bucks to replace it. Wish you luck in finding the problem.

Thanks Tony . It is under warranty and i'm going to take it to the dealer Monday after work. I usually have music playing and I never noticed the clunking or popping noise. Thanks, Mark

Found out today that my clunking or popping noise is the passenger upper strut mount bearings. They ordered it and should be fixed Friday

Had a similar problem about a year ago. Motor mounts needed replacing, then the noise started again, they replaced more parts, then it happened again, did not take it to the dealer this time, but it was the tie rod end on the left side. I sure must make a lot of left hand turns!

Well guys not sure what to do now . I dropped my PT off at the dealer today for the fix Friday, but they started to take it apart early and found that i had lowered springs on it . They told me who ever put the springs on (Belle Tire) didn't replace the factory upper strut mount and bearings with an Eibach kit. They said they won't warranty it . Now i have to pick the car up tomorrow and take it to Belle Tire for them to look at it. Does Eibach have that kind of kit? Take Care, Mark

Yes they do.But you don't have to change the strut mount and bearings just because you put lowing springs on.Just another ploy to take your money and run.I put the same springs on mine and didn't change anything.Good luck.

This is what i found out after paying $43 for the diagnosis today. Belle Tire forgot the isolator on the right side. Do the springs come with those or do they use the factory ones??? Now i need to try to get my money back from Belle Tire for the diagnosis and get it fixed. Thanks, Mark
