OK has anyone seen this problem. I had the dealer service try to diagnose they couldn't without $129 an hour.
Electric door locks work fine everywhere but Drivers Door where if I push the lock button it will not work. Unlock works but not lock. Dealer assured me it was not the switch. This just started two weeks ago.
TIA,
Anne

And how did the dealer determine that it wasn't the switch? I wonder if the left and right switches are interchangeable. If they are, then swap them temporarily and see if the problem moves with the switch. If so, the problem IS the switch. If not, maybe there is a problem with the wiring harness or more likely, the connector.
It's a pain having to open up both door panels to do this yourself though...

They said that they replaced the switch and that it did the same thing. My Friend is a Paint and Body man so he can get the panels off fairly easy. I may have him do that this weekend and see if we can figure out what is going on. At least I'll be able to put a meter on it and figure out where the juice(or lack of) is going.

Very well could be an open circuit in the coil windings of the circuit used to create the magnitism to force the plungers up and down. Each direction creates a different polarity so they have different paths. It is a simple part replacement in that doors insides.

One question to clarify. If you use any other switch ALL doors lock and unlock? Or no matter which switch you use the Driver's door will not lock? I would say if the driver's door only will not lock then it could be a couple of things. The wire going to the motor has an open in it or it is possible that the motor itself is bad. Also, the sensor that tells it not to lock if the door is open could be bad (The one that keeps you from locking your keys in the car) If it is just the one switch that is not working right it could be the switch itself (Always get a second opinion) or the wire going to the motor or door lock module. Just thoght of one thing, when you use the key fob does all doors lock?
