For those thinking of gettting stage 1... DO IT! Well worth the money and what a difference it makes especially if you have a CAI and free flowing exhaust.

I agree, James. Tommy thrift has the best prices and knowledge for Stage 1,including all of the "goodies" you might want to add...coil- overs, blow-off valve, heavy duty intercooler.... Take a look at his simple white PT making about 300+ HP with tons of engine & drive-train mods. It's impressive. Easy trip to Richmond to have it installed. Maybe we should plan on going to Haynes.

Yea Richard I remember seeing his Pt at the VA state meet. 300 HP + would be nice.

And once you reach that (300HP) you better get the beefed up transmission (which is now available) because it can't handle the torque.

Asolutely Tom. His has the heavy duty trans, positive traction, heavy duty differential, stage 3 coil overs, heavy duty, high capacity intercooler, new pistons, crank9Like the Neon stuff). Too much for me. Had I wanted all that, I would have purchased a muscle car!

Wonder if I could put a stage 1 on my whipple.. Won't work, it's a computer swap (and injectors for the 2003 model) for the existing turbo models 2003 and up. They went to a new engine controller in 2003. Stage 1 is really quite an amazing upgrade. You get great driveability along with more boost when you need it. It also changes tranny shift points and doesn't pull ignition timing like stage 0 does when you up the boost. It is a factory engineered upgrade that is the needed foundation for anyone who wants to start playing around with bigger turbos, boost controllers etc. I am also hoping to take advantage of increased gas mileage that stage 1 offers. (Assuming I can keep the grin off my face and my foot out of the throttle.) I know a guy in VA that is getting 30mpg on the highway in his car. He does have a catless downpipe and freeflowing exhaust which helps I'm sure. Even if I only get 25-26mpg, stage 1 will pay for itself over the next few years. Brian
