Since several of you mentioned contacting Chris, and he just got his "official" Army email up and running, I thought I'd share his address..... christopher.t.minton@us.army.milAs soon as I get a mailing address I'll share that as well, might be a while before he can checking email in basic might be a little tough anyway. Thanks for all the support! ;D

While a lot of you were at the Great American Parkway Tour, we took a little tour of our own., but not with the Cruiser. The family took Moby Van, the great white truck, and traveled down to Ft Benning, GA to vist with Chris during his 36hr midcycle pass.
This is the point where "regular" basic ends and they begin advanced individual training, but for combat specialities they now combine the two into One Station Unit Training. We got to spend some really good hangout time with him so he could relax and kinda recharge before he finishes this last month of infantry training. He looked great and seems to be doing well. He says hello to you all, and asked that I thank you all for your prayers and words of support. He really appreciates it!
We'll head back down in a month for graduation, and it's on to jump school for him!

Tom,
Do I detect a PROUD dad?
I know you and Trista must be really proud of your son. And you have good reason.
I'm glad you got to spend some time with him and are back home safe.

Here we go again, the last Cruise to Benning, at least for a while. This time we celebrate with Chris as he graduates RIP and becomes a member of 3rd Bn / 75th Ranger Regiment! ;D That's right boys and girls, he made it! Out of the 220 in his Basic Training Company, 25 were going Ranger. Out of those 25, 3 made it... Damn right I'm proud of him! www.goarmy.com/ranger/
