Have a Garmin Street Pilot i3 for sale. It has a 1 gig card and has all the continental US downloaded onto it. It gives voice prompts and has a color screen. About the size of a baseball. Works well, I just upgraded to a newer model with a couple more frills. First 75 bucks takes it.

WOE IS ME. I was only gone for three days for a slight medical emergency for my Mother and missed the GPS. I guess I'll just have to wait until the new one's (GPSs not Mothers) come down in price to fit my available money.
So anyway folks, what is the best GPS to get. I've seen good prices on Magellan's and Garmin's. But will have to wait for the Santa Express for one. Lennell

Lennell:
Several of us got the TomTom 901(about $425 in a group buy, including shipping). Pricy compared to some but packed with features. 20 Gb, docking station for computer connection and constant charging;windshield quick release mount, remote control, carry bag, car power/charger, CD for computer updates and downloads, Mp3 connector, radio connector (plays music through radio, holds 1,500 songs) and blue tooth ready)answers my cell. No---it doesn't wash the PT!!! I highly recommend it.

Sounds great but way out of my price range (at least until my Jeep sells). Maybe they have a model with less features. Lennell

"Santa" brought me a Garmin last year. Works great!! I know Wal-mart sells 2-3 different versions of the Garmin starting just under $300. Target had a Magellan on sale last week for under $200.

I'll check these out. We're leaving for Cruise the Rockies this weekend and won't return until September. I'll see if I can find one in my price range while on the road. I've been looking at the Garmin's and Magellan's. Glad to hear positive feedback about all of these. Lennell

I'm pretty much happy with my Garmin Nuvi 350, my only annoyances with it is that it occasionally "locks up" from time to time, forcing me to turn it off & restart it. buy.garmin.com/shop/shop.do?pID=6290

Hi Guys and Gals, I'm sure the people that know me know that the topic would get me started. Being referred to as Mr. Wizard by Pt4u2c (Richard) I along with 4 others in the group own the TomTom GO 910. I have fully integrated this unit into my PT. It's hardwired directly to my factory am/fm/cd/cassette player. This the only portable GPS unit made with a hard drive on board(20 gig), no expansion cards to worry about. It also has a large touch-screen (4.0 inches). I have 1,576 songs, 55 photos and still all North American and Canadian roads and points of interest, including all retail stores, Dunkin Donuts and Baskin Robbins. The GO 910 is connected to my cell phone via Bluetooth, connects to my 30 gig iPod, and has iPod controls built in. So, I can ride down the road getting turn by turn directions(complete with street NAMES not just "turn left in 100 feet"), listening to any of over 4000 songs, (with iPod connected), take and make calls on my cell through the speaker phone on the TomTom(dialing numbers on the screen, which pauses the music) and can have pics of my PT in a slide show going to, and still get my directions while all this is going on. Can you tell I enjoy and like my TomTom very much, and with all the retail stores and restaurants on board it has helped me when in towns I'm not familiar with. And now with a little "tweaking" my phone-calls play through my stereo speakers so i can control the volume with my radio volume knob. I did a lot of research before deciding on this unit and NOW, I have made a deal with TomTom as a "group buyer" and can get the 910 with all its accessories that most of the retailers charge extra for, for only $425.00. I personally think it is the best unit out there, bar-none. 1. Hard drive 2. MP3 player 3. Bluetooth compatible (most phones) 4. Picture viewer 5. Audio book playback 6. 4 inch screen www.tomtom.com/lib/doc/910Datasheet.pdf
