I did a lot of soul searching before making this post and if the moderators here decide it is inappropriate or needs to be moved to another area I fully understand, but I thought not speaking out would be a bigger disservice to the new friends I have made here. Since buying my PT I have made a number of after market purchases for the car. Many of the transactions were conducted successfully, unfortunately, one was not. An order was placed to PT Werks for his 1940’s fender trim kit. His online instructions clearly stated the pieces were numbered and ready to instal. Looking at the photo you can see that each side consists of 6 separate strips to be applied. What I received was four longish unmarked strips of extruded “chromed” plastic that were crudely hacked off at each end. In other words, completely different from his onliine description. I have e-mailed his twice suggesting that he might have sent the wrong product and offering to exchange for a more expensive item and have been ignored both time. I was about to let it go and write it off as a bad show until I came across this thread in another forum: www.ptcruiserlinks.com/forum/topic.asp?TOPIC_ID=3902And this changed my mind and I decided to post here as a public service. I now see the situation clearer and would urge my fellow Carolina Cruiser Enthusiasts not to do any business with PT Werks. If this is old news I am sorry to waste your time, but perhaps this can serve some useful purpose. Cheers,

This type of post is just fine. It alerts us all to some possible less-than-reputable suppliers or parts out there. When buying sight-unseen off the net, you are taking a chance anyway. Posts like this can help us all weed out the bad. The ones I have dealt with have so far given great service such as:
Wyckoff Chrysler Race and Street PT-Tuning Moss Motors/CruiserBits
Not saying they are the only ones out there that do have good service and products, but I'm trusting enough to think most are reputable until proven otherwise. Thanks for the heads-up.

A positive list is good too. Let me add:
Auto Truck toys.com Blain Baysinger
Very happy dealing with these people.

Thanks Rocky. I have bought many things online already and know that most dealers are good people and good to do business with. For me, this is a small matter except I would LIKE the look of those chrome parts on my car.
I just don't want my new friends here to fall prey in the future.

There's no excuse when someone delivers something that is not as they said it would be. Your warning is most appropriate. It's a shame when enthusiasts are taken advantage of by compamies that are here because of US.
