Okay, folks, just a few more weeks until the picnic and we need YOUR nominations for Grits King & Queen. Now that Miss B is running, it's time to make known who wants to run against her and Ms. Flowery Branch. As Miss B said in an earlier post, the votes will cost you a mere $1.00 to cast and, yes, you can cast as many votes as you like (the more votes, the more money for Meals on Wheels)! So, with that being said, in order to keep our GRITS heritage alive, we must have your nominations and votes. Put on your thinking caps and let me know your'e nominee via post, e-mail or phone. For those of you that plan to attend, but have not sent in their registration form, because of Sue's health challenges, I will need your check made out and mailed to me at: Beverly Green, 4499 Rock Creek Circle, Trussville, AL 35173. Questions.....e-mail me or call me at 205-655-0762. I hope you can all make it from near and far!

Morning everyone! Well, it's less than two weeks until the 5th Annual Alabama PTCC Picnic! We've had a change of plans for Saturday night. Childersburg is celebrating their 465th birthday on Saturday (that makes them the oldest city in the state of Alabama)! We have been officially invited to attend the festivities and will be honored for choosing their fair city for our picnic. The Judge Probate of Childersburg, Billy Anderson, spoke with me yesterday and told me how excited he was that we would be there and would love for us to attend any and all of the festivities. There are several concerts going on throughout the day and, at 6:45 P.M., a Bluegrass Bash will be held. I thought it would be great if we could all load up after dinner at Whiskers and cruise on over the the Bash to congratulate them on their birthday. If you are arriving early, maybe we could attend some of the daytime activites. Let's all let them know how much we enjoy their city and give them a big PTCC birthday congratulations and thank them for welcoming us.
