I am planning on buying a plastic cover to go over the front bumper of my PT. It will need to be primed and painted to match the car and I am looking for recommendations for someone in the triangle (pref.) area to do this.
Does anyone know someone to recommend for this?
Thanks in advance,

I already looked into that but it is not a Chrysler product and so far the dealer I bought from seems less than enthusiastic about taking on the project.
Thanks for the suggestion though.

You say "plastic cover".....what kind of cover did you buy.
The original front "bumper" cover is plastic also, painted.
Any body shop can paint plastic since most all cars nowdays is partly plastic. There are certain procedures specifically for plastic finishing.

Here is part of the write up on it:
"Made of durable & paintable CNC-milled high impact ABS, this unique cover attaches over the dull grey factory bumper with 3M two-sided tape and plastic rivets. Fits all years and models of the PT Cruiser that come with the grey factory bumper (Touring, Limited, and base models). Paint preparation is simple; scuff, prime & paint. "
And I stopped by Peach Automotive Painting this morning and got an estimate of $137 using Chrysler paint.

How far are you from Elkins Chrysler in Durham? They'll do it. They did all my painting hood and kit and even did my dads flames on his Pt.

OUCH!!
Dreamin'
Thank you for telling me about Elkins. Yes, they would be happy to paint the item . . . only their estimate was $250-$300!!
Considerably more than Peach and significantly more than the part costs.
I think I will stick with peach unless aomeone else does better.

How much did peach tell ya? The body shop manager at Elkins is Travis. Tell him I sent you and he better give you a good deal. If he's just painting it I know he can do it for $150

Peach's estimate was $137 to prime it and use Chrysler paint to match so I think this is probably the was I will go. I have a bit of prep work myself to do on it but right now am too busy to attend to it.
I got the piece yesterday and it looks realy cool so I am pretty excited.
