Hey folks , I just bought a chrome rear view mirror . The mounting post is smaller than the factory mirror so the entire mirror including the metal block that mounts to the glass must be replaced . I removed the stock mirror , but can't figure out how to get that metal block loose . I tried to take a putty knife and tap on the edge but it wasn't budging and I didn't want to crack the glass . Anyone know of a chemical or something that would loosen that glue Thanks !!!!

Use a hair dryer, once its hot enough you can get it off with that putty knife. Then clean the remaining glue.
