Where and when would everyone like to meet and caravan to Gatlinburg? I'm open to most anytime.
We'll leave Friday morning and head up Hwy 321 to Hickory and pick up I-40 there. That's mile marker/exit 123 on I-40.

We thought we could meet everyone at Exit 113 (Rutherford College / Connelly Springs Road) on I-40. It will take about 3 hours from this exit to Gatlinburg. There is a Phillips 66 gas station / truck stop on the right at this exit that we can meet everyone at. Just let us know what time you think everybody might be coming through and we can meet up with you there.

Is this exit(113) around the Hickory area? I 'm asking only so I know how much time to allow from GSO to there. This is fine with me. I'll pick up whomever comes through GSO and head your way. Tony has said they will leave Wilmingtom around 5AM, which puts them here about 8:30 or so. How early were you thinking of arriving in Gattlinburg?

Guilford College Rd in GSO is exit 213 and Sherri says let's meet at 113. That would be about 1 hr 30 min or so...right? If you're meeting the others at 8:30, that would put you there about 10:00 or so. We could meet you all at exit 113 around 10:00 or just a little after. Sounds like it's coming together.

Exit 113 is about 10 miles and about 10-15 minutes west of Exit 123 in Hickory. From GSO it should take you around 2 hours to get to Exit 113. You all should be at Exit 113 sometime around 10:30-11:00. We had planned on getting to Gatlinburg sometime around 2:00-3:00 in the afternoon. Maybe Rick and Mike can meet us at Exit 113 also.

This is just going to be too too cool! call me on my cell or on the 2-way radio about 5-10 min before you get to the hotel and I'll be on the balcony taking pics of y'all as you arrive! I'm showing 13 cars coming from NC.... have y'all accounted for everybody or do you need names? ;D

Isn't this just awesome! We want to start the fun as early as possible! I'll give you a call on your cell when we get near the hotel. I don't know all 13 cars, so that would be great if you can let us know - or just send me an e-mail! We have a VHS tape from 1994 about the Great Smokey Railways. We watched it last night and are very excited about the train ride. We have been wanting to do this every since we got married! That would be over 20 years! Finally, another dream come true!

Knowing how travel is, let's plan to meet at exit 113 at 11:00. This will give us some flexibility. I have made the GSO to exit 123 many times at 1 hour or so, so this should be fine. Hopefully, everyone will see our posts and plan accordingly. As we get closer, we'll confirm everything. Meeting at Guilford College exit works for me, probably around 8:30-9:00. Looks like another FANTASTIC CRUISE in the making.

Hey Carolina Cruisers,
Those of us from the Star City PT Cruisers are departing at 10:00 am and should arrive at the hotel in 4 1/2 hours of driving time. There will be some stops enroute so it will be 3:00 - 3:30 pm arrival time for us. We look forward to seeing all of you. We will be using
I-81 S most of the way until we have to exit on I-40 for the last few miles.
