Sweet as a Peach IV[/b][/size] Athens, Georgia June 24-26 2005
Mark your calendars now for this charity cruise-in event in the Classic City. Complete event details and registration info will be posted very soon. This event will be a fund raiser for the American Cancer Society. It will be hosted by the PTCC Georgia Chapter, the Atlanta Cruiser Experience, and the South Metro PT Cruisers.

Daryl- since you never answered my email.......I have a question for ya. is there going to be a commerce, ga event at the dragstrip this year. (hayes)worst dealership in atlanta usually puts it on.

Tang, the e-mail I got from you didn't allow me to respond. Didn't know you were Tang here. In answer to your question, yes. The Hayes Mopar Meet will be the weekend after Labor Day as always. It is listed on our events calendar at ga.ptcruiserclub.org/georgia/events.htm. BTW, I believe Hayes is one of the better dealerships in N. Georgia. I have gotten nothing but great sales and service and they have been a totally supportive sponsor of the GA Chapter of the PTCC.

Here are the event details: Cruiser Central will be the Comfort Inn, 3980 Atlanta Hwy, Bogart GA 30622 The rooms there are $70 per night plus tax. The hotel has a continental breakfast. Their number is 706-227-9700. There are additional rooms available at the Microtel Inn, 1050 Ultimate Dr, Athens GA 30606. Their number is 706-548-5676. This hotel is on the same road as the Comfort Inn (despite the different street name) about 2 miles away. Friday afternoon/evening We will begin checking folks in for the event at the Comfort Inn beginning at noon on Friday. We will provide you with everything you need for the weekend (goody bags, dash plaques, info on local dining options, etc.). Saturday morning Breakfast on your own (at Comfort Inn or in any of the nearby eateries). Car show will be at the Georgia Square Mall, 3700 Atlanta Hwy, Athens GA 30606. This is about 1/4 mile from the Comfort Inn and a little over a mile from the Microtel Inn. We will begin parking for the car show at 9 am. Judging (by participants) will be from 11 am - 1 pm. Raffle drawings from 1-2 pm. We will also have a remote PT Cruiser race. Ladies and Gentlemen, START YOUR ENGINES!! Raffle tickets for our raffle items and the 50/50 raffle will be available all day long. Saturday Afternoon We will have a Poker Run that will highlight some of the major Athens attractions. Entry fee for the Poker Run is $10 per car/hand. Saturday evening We will cruise to the Elks Lodge of Athens, 185 Ben Burton Rd, Bogart GA 30622 for our final festivities. The schedule is: 6-7 pm, Catered BBQ dinner 7-10 pm, Awards and Sock-Hop (awards will be given early during the sock-hop, completely done by 8 pm). Feel free to stay as long as you like. Sunday Morning Meet for breakfast at a local eatery (location still to be determined) before heading home. OK, so what does all this cost? Glad you asked. Registration for the Sweet as a Peach IV is $25 per car which includes the event, your dash plaque, and entrance to the Dinner, Sock-Hop, and Awards for the driver. Each additional passenger will be $5 for the Saturday evening event. The Poker Run is $10 per car/hand. Michael Swann, a fabulous pin-striper/artist from Birmingham will be available all weekend to add personal flair to your car. You can see examples of his work at www.swanngraphics.com. If you have artwork in mind, you may want to contact him ahead of time through his web site or at 205-566-7456. T-shirts will be available to order on your registration form. We will have them available at check-in. Shirts will ONLY be available through pre-orders. Prices are being negotiated. Remember, this event is to raise money for the American Cancer Society. Absolutely no profit will be kept by the clubs putting this together. So, how do I register? NOTE to others: Microtel Inn is $55 for those on a budget with many others around that same price. Yep, the Microtel is $55, but not enough room for all of us. Same with most other hotels in the area regardless of price. Don't want to be in the downtown area because of the AthFest crowd that weekend.
