Coastal Carolina PT Cruisers announces our planning for a PT event to coincide with the 58th Annual North Carolina Azalea Festival at Wilmington on April 8-10, 2005. Our agenda is in the planning stage but for sure it will include a car show. Our primary sponsor is Neuwirth Chrysler who will also be providing the car show facilities and knowledgable judging staff. Other local and national sponsors are expected and this event will be non-profit and will benefit a charity (tbd). Much of our agenda will be planned in conjunction with the Azalea Festival agenda to afford folks an opportunity to enjoy both the PT events and the festival and other Wilmington area attractions. That sounds like fun. Can't wait for springtime. I really hate cold weather.

Agreed, sounds like fun. Looking forward to attending! I've only got one caveat for you, if you thought traffic in "Wilmywood" sucked last time we were there, wait until the Azalea Festival....

It does indeed get busy at that time of year! But even with the heavy traffic, you get a chance to see many things while you are here. I thought a cruise of some kind after the show would be good. How about ideas? We have the battleship here, an aquaruium, civil war fort, Wrightsville Beach and Carloina Beach. As Wally said, we are in the planning stages right now. We will get a list of hotels and motels with their addresses and phone numbers posted in the near future. Hope to see you all there.

Yippeee! It's been 30+ years since I've been to the Azalea Festival! It was in the early 70's and David Soul (remember "Here Comes The Brides"?) was the Grand Marshal! Gosh, now I'm feelin old as dirt! I've marked my calendar and hopefully I can come down for the event. Hey, do they still run the ferry boat from South Port to Fort Fisher? Wouldn't that be cool..... a ferry boat full of PT Cruisers! ;D

That sounds like a great idea to me. I remember the Azalea Festival from my college years (well, some of it anyway). It would be nice to go for other reasons than to drink all the "PJ" I could. I will post it on our web page as a potential event for our club to consider. Maybe we will join you.

This one sounds good to me to. It's on the calendar! This is great time to be in Wilmington--count us in. We had so much fun at the July meet--got to do it again. Take care, PT4U2C

Becky, you are right there is a ferry that runs from Ft Fisher over to Southport. I agree, a boatload of PT's would really be a site to see! Think I will contact them to see how many cars they typically hold.

Hey Carol, for those of us who are transplants to the area, what in the world is PJ ? We would really be happy seeing a group from Star City Cruisers here!!

PJ is a wicked drink you make when your in college.Consist of I believe 7 different kinds of alchol and punch and you cut up fruit and put in.let it soak for a day or so then drink the punch and eat the fruit if you dare. Its usually made in a bath tub cooler garbage can or whatever you have.

Well, now I see you have a great description of PJ. I don't want to offend anyone, but the initials stand for "Purple Jesus". If you drank enough, you would see him very clearly!!! Wally, I don't recognize "jumping the jetties"......must have been the PJ that kept me from doing it. By the way, we left a many bathtubs stained from PJ in Wilmington. Carrol

The Azalea Festival sounds great but we will be at the Auto Fair at Lowe's Motor Speedway that weekend! Sorry we will miss the Azaleas and some of our PT friends, but I'm sure it will be a fun weekend for everyone! ;D
