Ok folks, mark your calendars and sign-up!
Cruising the Pig II will be September 25th @ 6609 Chantilley Place, Bahama, NC.
Please register online at tom.ptenthusiasts.net/about.html before September 17th so that we can calculate how much food we need.
Much the same as last year, we'll have a NC style Pig-Picking with all the trimmings, the Kid's Choice Car Show, and other fun and games to be announced later.
The whole idea of this "event" is food, friends and light-hearted fun. Nothing about it is serious. Except the food, we are serious about the food!
Registration is 10.00 per car, payable on the day of the event, and is simply to help us cover the costs of the food. Of course, addtional donations are accepted!
So that everyone has a true understanding for the "feel" of the pig-picking, allow me to explain a bit further. Our little gathering is as much a parody of other "major" events as anything else. We are all guilty of taking ourselves way to seriously! We intentionally chose a name that was a play on a major Cruiser event. This a non-profit event, but the closest we get to supporting a charity is the "Help Keep Tom Out of the PoorHouse Foundation". The "registration" fee is simply to help us cover the cost of food, and "event" merchandise is made available at www.cafeshops.com/ctp simply as a rememberance of the event and at our costs. We make no profits on either, we're simple trying to keep this from costing us an arm and a leg!
The Kid's Choice Car Show is equally non-serious. Our distiguished panel of judges are however many children, eighteen years old and younger that are present on the day of the show. There are no categories and no judging criteria other than the kids pick their favorite 3 cars and the overall top 3 vote getters are awarded the prizes. We'll have..
Kid's Choice Award
Almost Kid's Choice
Not Quite Kid's Choice
Winners will get a certificate, and prizes, if prizes are donated, or we can come up with a good and cheap idea for some! If not. you might only get a certificate
Toward that end, if you have an item that would make a good prize and you would like to donate it please let us know!
Looking foward to seeing ya'll here in September!
Tom & Triste Minton & Family
PS:
For some reason the board seems to have locked out replies on the original thread, that's why I've started another.. But here it is again.
