I think we really need to do some kind of cruise on the parkway this year. There is a great place right across the line in Virginia, I think called Groundhog Hill or something. It's been a few years since I've been there but they have a large parking area, great picnic areas and perfect views. If this sounds like something anyone is interested in I can go up there and double check to make sure it is a good place to go or if anyone else has been that might know. We could all meet somewhere and cruise up the mountians to that place. What do you think?

Sounds real interesting. If the scheduling of it works out we'll be there!

We are looking to the mountains for a few warmer weather meets. And FYI... The Georgia chapter of the PT Cruiser Club is planning a September Blue Ridge Parkway Cruise that will, I think go all the way through NC. More on that to come. Here's a link to the forums section it's posted on. Hope you can get to it. BLUE RIDGE MOUNTAIN CRUISE

Did a partial cruise on the parkway last year. Only made it part way because I diverted to Pigeon Forge for a large car show. The parkway is beautiful though. We stayed at a national park service motel on Mt Pisgah. I would love to do more this time, so count me in.

The place that Gary mentioned earlier in the post is a very nice area. If I am thinking about the same place he is talking about, it is Groundhog Mountian. It is located about 12 to 13 miles east of Old Hwy 52. It has a large parking area, picnic tables, and most importantly; indoor restrooms. From that area, you can travel about another 15 miles east to the Meadows of Dan - Mabry Mills area.

Yeah, that's the place. Groundhog Mountain. If I can remember it has a great view of the mountains.

Not sure about Groundhog Mtn but I know not far past Mabry Mills is the "Chateau Morrisette Winery". If you're into winery tasting or tours, this is a beautiful place. We could probably get some of the Roanoke club in fo this too.

Mabry Mill and Chateau Morrisette Winery is a wonderful cruise for the day! I did that cruise last year with the Roanoak Cruisers (and Flow ) and had a great time. I even spent the night at a neat B&B and just made a weekend out of it! It's one of my favorite places to go!
