I'm planning a little Meet and Greet for PToholics on Saturday April 24th during the Kelly Spring Festival here in Southeastern North Carolina. Kelly is a farming community between White Lake and Burgaw on NC Highway 53 and this is the one day that the whole community comes alive...we shut down the highway and have a parade....then we have our festival in the center of "town". The organizers have invited me to invite my PT Cruiser friends (they all know that I'm a PToholic). If you like downhome barbeque and friendly faces..this'll be the place to come...if we get enough PT's...we'll even have a car show right smack in the middle of things and we'll let the locals do the judging.
If you are interested say so here and I'll see if we can make it worth your while. They'll be NO cost to register, the food will cost you a little, but it benefits the Fire Department (my brother-in-law is the chief).

Use to go to White Lake every summer when I was a kid. Would be fun to go down that way again.

Wally's World/PToholic Gathering/Kelly Spring Festival April 24 Kelly N.C.
Located on NC Hwy 53 between White Lake and Burgaw. If coming by way of I-40, take the Hwy 53 Exit at Burgaw and head west, you'll drive thru farms/forest to Atkinson and then over the Black River and Colly Creek coming into open farmland at Kelly. Don't blink. We have no stoplights, no speedbumps, no local cops, but Hwy 53 is a main path for the NC Highway Troopers between their headquarters and I-40. If you see one he'll either pass you doing 120 mph, or pull you for getting in his way. (just kidding guys).
Hope to see you there. If you do come in early stop at my home and visit.....look for my house at the east end of Kelly on Hwy 53 at "21557"...there's a sign at the road...a dead givaway will be the two Blue PT's in the yard.
If you want to be in the parade you will need to be here at Kelly prior to 10:30 am. If you plan to parade, bring candy to throw to the kids....or if you gots lots of money, you can throw that.
We'll be setting up our PT display at the Kelly fairgrounds in the center of the community at 11:30 am. We will be sharing space, but separate, with a Classic Car Club which will display their Old Metal.
We'll be awarding a single "unforgettable" trophy for the community choice award....the community will pick their choice of numbered PT's attending. May be some more surprises.
Bar-b-que pork and chicken, fried chicken, and all that good stuff will be available at modest cost benefiting the volunteer fire department.
Be sure to gas up before coming as we only have one (independant) gas station and he invented high gas prices before it was popular (so to speak). Nearest cheaper gas is 25 miles.
