[glow=red,2,300]Hello Fellow Cruisers[/glow]
The holiday season is quickly approaching and the Midway, N.C. Christmas Parade is less than two weeks away.
Rick tells me that we may have as many as 15 PTs who have shown interest in taking part in the parade. All I can say to that is GREAT!!!!! There is no limit as to the number of entrees we have, so come one, come all, to the greatest little parade in North Carolina.
The parade starts at 1:00 p.m., we will need to be lined up by 12:00 noon.
Our meeting place will be as follows:
If you are coming from the Charlotte/Concord area, take I-85 North toward Lexington, N.C.. Just before you get to Lexington, take the Highway 52 North Exit (Winston Salem - Piedmont Triad International Airport Exit)
Travel north on Hwy 52 to Exit 103 (S. Main Street)
Go to the bottom of the exit ramp and turn left. This will take you under Highway 52. Travel about 1/4 mile, and you will see an Exxon Mini Mart on your right. The street beside of the mini mart is a dead end street that goes into an industrial park. We can meet and get ready for the parade along that dead end street.
If you will be coming from the I-40 or the Highway 311 area, take the Highway 52 South Exit (Lexington Exit) off of I-40.
Travel south on Highway 52 to Exit 103 (S. Main Street). Go to the bottom of the ramp, turn right. After you turn right, you will see an Exxon Mini Mart ahead on your right. We will meet on the street beside of the mini mart.
There isn't that much in the little industrial park behind the Exxon station, so traffic should not be a problem for us.
We will leave from our meeting location at about 11:30 and travel to the parade line-up area.
It will be about a 3 mile drive from our meeting location to where the parade line-up area is, so you may want to wait until we are actually lined up for the parade before you decorate you cruiser.
After the parade, we will find a place to pull over so that you can un-decorate your cruiser.
Once everyone has un-decorated, we will hit Highway 52 North and head for Billy Bobs Silver Diner to eat and meet.
My wife and I went to Billy Bobs last night. The food is really good, the employees are fantastic, the atmosphere is straight out of the 1950's.
I spoke with the manager to make sure that they knew of our plans and she is really excited about us meeting there.
If anyone needs additional information, directions to the Midway area, or any of the "attractions and happenings" in Winston Salem, please e-mail me @ mreece2@triad.rr.com
I want your visit to be an enjoyable one.
Thanks
Mark Reece
