If you're an NHRA drag racing fan like I am, you may enjoy trying to pick the pro category winners for the rest of season, the one with the most correct picks gets a trip to the Winternationals in Pomona! nhra.powerade.com/contest/game.asp

Used to get into drag racing a lot. In fact used to do the Sunday drags at a local drag strip with a 1972 Duster 340. A group of us did a lot of street and strip racing back in the '70's. My Duster, a Baldwin-Motion 454 72 Camaro, a 455 Grand Prix, a small block Vega, a 67 Comet with a 428 and a blown 68 396 Vette. Sure had a great time with that car.

I had a Vega once; and it should have been melted down into a small block. ;D

I worked at Honest Charleys Speed Shop back in 1973 and sold a guy a kit to drop a small block and automatic in a Vega. He did a super job on it and we wound up hanging out and going to Shuffletown Drag Strip a lot.

I used to go to Pomona twice a year. Being in the military for twenty years gave me plenty of oppurtunities to be in different places at different times to see the races. The best yet though would have to be Sears Point. I worked as a volunteer for all the races for 7 years, Of course I always worked RESERVED SEATING for the DRAGS Because there the best.
Lets all pray for Darryl Russell's Family!!!
