This one in Lenoir is about 1.5 hours NW of Charlotte (at the speed limit).
As far as downtown Charlotte, check out the reply under "general discussion". That one won't be but a few city blocks from you.

We will not be making the Lenoir one after all. Still planning for the Charlotte one however.

VetCruiser, the one in Charlotte is at the Mint Street Parking garage. Corner of Stonewall and Mint. Across the street from Football Stadium. Only a few blocks from where you are staying. Runs 4-10, we plan on getting there around 3:30.
