The updated suggested itinerary below has a couple of changes from the original suggested itinerary you may have. This will give participants an idea of "what, where, & when". It shows the Friday schedule for those of us in VA to cruise down to Asheville. Any of you arriving on Friday are invited to "meet up" in the hotel lobby to find something to eat for supper.
REVISED Schedule for Biltmore Estates Cruise
9/12-14
Friday, 9/12 – Leave Roanoke at 10:00 AM, Cruise to motel in Asheville. (257 miles) Probably 5-6 hour trip with stopping for lunch, etc.
1. Arrive at hotel between 3-4:00 PM, check in, freshen up, etc
2. 5 – 5:30 PM – Go down the street to Texas Roadhouse for supper
3. Evening free
Saturday, 9/13
1. 9:00 AM – Cruise over to Biltmore Estates for walking tour
2. 12:00 Noon – Find a sandwich for lunch on grounds (several choices)
3. 3:00 PM – Regroup at Welcome Center parking lot.
4. 4:15 PM – Park @ front entrance for photo taking of PT’s
5. 5:00 PM – Guided tour of home
6. 6:30 PM – Find a place for supper
? or supper on you own.
Sunday, 9/14
1. 9:00 AM – Meet in lobby for breakfast
2. Cruise over to Grove Park Resort (if interested in seeing)
3. Leave for home afterwards
The main thing is to meet up at the Welcome center parking area to regroup after our walking tour of grounds. We could all be going in different directions prior to this, but do need to re-group at this time.
Remember to bring your camera for the photo session of our cars in front of the Biltmore house. These pictures will not be taken by the Biltmore for us. Hopefully, we can get a shot of all the cars together with the home in the background as well as individual shots of your PT alone.
The Star City PT Cruiser club has 7 cars scheduled to be there with you. We are really looking forward to cruising with all of you.
Also, Anne says we will be using channel 2 on our radios during the cruise
