Let's do it! Been several times, but never with my crusier family. Would be a photographic moment for sure. Day trip or stay over?

For me it'd just be a day trip, only a bit over an hour from here...

Just wanted to let all of you know that we have 4 cars (so far)from our club interested in doing a Biltmore cruise weekend. Two from TN have also responded with a "yes, I'm interested" on our poll. If you Carolina folks are still interested, let's put some dates on it and proceed with making some plans. It would be nice if one of you had the "local knowledge" of the Asheville area to pick a motel, etc. to use for our headquarters & sleeping ;D I will be glad to work on the project with you from here. I guess the first thing is to pick a weekend to do it. We would need to cruise down to Asheville on Friday since it is a pretty good trip for us in the Roanoke area.

Well I don't have local knowledge, however we are closer to Asheville. I'll look around and see what I can come up with near Biltmore. We are pretty booked for May. How about Weekend June 20-22, Doesn't look to be much on the Carolina Calendar for that weekend. How about the VA. and Tenn. schedules.

We also have things on the schedule all around that date. September would be great for us, but will work with what ever the majority wants as best we can. Getting a possible hotel location would be a start in the right direction. Thanks for doing that.

That time frame is even better for me. I thought you all wanted to do it sooner than later. Let me check my schedule for On Call....

The 'Fall' season would be better than the 'Summer' as far as how the grounds, etc will look. Been there in the Summer and didn't enjoy it as well.
Too bad we have so much planned already this year for Nov thru Dec because that is the 'ultimate' time to see the Biltmore all decorated for Christmas. If you've never seen that try to go sometime. UNBELIEVABLE!

Just wanted to let you Carolina PT'ers that Anne & I are working on the Biltmore Estate cruise in September. She is getting info on hotels, tickets, etc. We will post the info as soon as it is put together. The date at this time is going to be September 12, 13, 14th. At this time, we have 12 cars that have shown a definite interest in participating......This info comes from a poll on our Star City PT Club message board. If more of you want to show you intentions, log in and take the poll. This info will be very helpful to Anne when she is speaking with the hotels, restaurants, etc. She has found a hotel at a reasonable rate for that time of year in Asheville and reduced ticket prices for the Biltmore Estate. The tickets will be for a group guided tour of the home and pictures of all the PT's in front of it. I am sure she will spell everything out on your events board when we get some things finalized. Just wanted to let you know that the cruise is being worked on so you can plan your calendar to cruise with us.

"Arriving on Saturday"
That would be just great for those of you that live close to Asheville. Many of us will have to drive down on Friday afternoon so we can be there for Saturday Biltmore touring. For those of us arriving on Friday, we are tentatively planning on cruising over to Grove Park Inn & Resort on Saturday morning. If you haven't seen that lobby, it will be a treat. It is huge and has fireplaces on both ends almost big enough to drive a PT in !!! It appears that we would need to be at the Biltmore Estates by noon to start touring the grounds and winery.
A post will be put on the "events" board in the near future for you to "sign up" for the weekend cruise.
