Spring is almost here and so is the beginning of cruising season. As you can see from the calendar, lots of things are planned; shows, cruise-ins, get togethers…. And don’t you want your PT to be all nice and shiny for these events?
I knew you did which is why we have added to the calendar on Saturday March 31st a SPRING CLEAN UP DAY.
Wayne at Stuart Bowman Chrysler on Hwy 64 in Asheboro has kindly allowed us to have our spring clean up day there beginning at 9:30 or 10:00am. They will provide hoses, water, a pressure washer and their lot to clean up our PT’s. They are also letting us pull into the service bay so we can wax or polish out of the sun. How cool is that?
This will be a group effort thing. You help others, they help you. We’ll all be in there together cleaning up each others PT. If you have a special wax or polish you prefer to be used on your car, be sure to bring it. We’ll have some Zaino, Meguires and maybe other polishes there. Bring some towels for waxing and clean up. Also if you have a shop vacuum or similar, bring it for us to use.

I am gonna try to get to this. Mine can always use another coat of wax, and more so than that I always like meeting up with our extended family of cruisers.

Want to meet at 8:30 for breakfast at the usual place? Then we can head down 311 to 220 towards Asheboro.

....can we get Brian to come along? I'd like to try out his new polisher he posted about awhile back... Sorry Tim, I can't let you touch my polisher until I catch up with the shine on your car. Actually, I would consider loading my polisher up with 600 grit sandpaper and using it on yours...yeah that's the ticket! All kidding aside, I'm not sure I can make this one but if I can, I would be glad to put the polisher to work on whoever wants their car shined up a bit. It really makes the job easy. We would need to do some planning ahead of time to make the process go smoothly. (Supplies etc.) I have some 3m machine polishing glaze and the one pad that came with the unit. It would be nice to have different pads for different grades of polishes and wax. Or we could have several folks rubbing the wax on by hand. Once the polishing is done, the wax is a simple rub on, let dry, rub off. We can talk about the details to get everything going quickly to allow more cars to get done. You think a local Auto Zone or similar would like to donate some detailing supplies to our cause in return for some exposure? Brian

I have a buffer, that my son bought me, like I know how to use it. I can bring it, for any one that may want to use it. Only catch is, you have to help me buff mine down.

A donation from Autozone sounds like Jason's Dept since he works at the one in Lexington. Well he say's he works anyway. LOL Might want to check with him if you see him Tim. Brian didn't you say you need to claybar your car first before you polish or is that just a helpful if you do?

James I consider claybar to be a must before putting the buffer to the paint, otherwise you risk shoving contaminants around on the paint you are trying to polish. Brian

Maybe you should all claybar before coming that Saturday. To do the claybar right, it's a long and tedious process.

It's not all that bad.I did the claybar on sandy's car before we had the graphics put on.Man you wouldn't believe the stuff that came out of her paint. Its always a good idea o claybar a car every once in awhile.
