Anyone interested in meeting at the World Famous Beacon in Spartanburg, SC on Saturday, January 20th? Noticed the calendar is empty for the entire month of January. This would give us a chance to cruise for awhile, eat some great food, and socialize. Rick and Tom, its about time for that oil change. If the interest is there, I will set it up. Pam

Hmmmm. We enjoyed it there a few years ago with the Cruisin' for a Cause. Just might have to make it. Even if it is only one week after our PTCC GA/AL Slurp and Burp!

Sounds great. Can't remember how to get there but I'm sure we could meet along I-85 somewhere and follow someone in.
Be careful if you haven't been there. If you order something with the words "O'Plenty"; you'd better be hungry.

Hmmm is right! Ok... I'm in AL & GA the week before and doing the GA/AL Slurp & Burp on the 13th so I guess I could head home through Spartanburg on Saturday! Works for me!

Great! For those that have not been or never heard of 'The Beacon' check out their website. This place is an icon in Spartanburg, they are the second largest Drive In in the US and serve more iced tea than any other restaurant in the world. You may want to print the menu and peruse over it as we travel, cause the menu is enormous (over 150 items to choose from). www.beacondrivein.com

Pam, A GREAT idea but as far as the calendar being "empty the entire month of January"......our Jan PPTC meet & greet is next Sunday at Logan's in Summerville at 6pm although I do realize that would be a very late Sunday night for you from your 'upstate' area.
Debbie and I should be able to make it on the 20th. Keep us updated.

Great suggestion! It's time for another "Chilli cheese-a-plenty!! And to Darryl's point...not "kinda know"...you better know when you get to order! It's been many years since I was in the Beacon, and I'm ready for some nostalgia.
